I am pleased to announce that another project of mine finally made it into a Forge project on Codeplex. If you're tired of adminstrating pages in DNN through the fabulous page admin tool, try this one:

http://dnnpageadmin.codeplex.com

dnnWerk PageManagement is a module that simplifies pages administration in DotNetNuke. By using a treeview control rather than the beloved pages listbox it helps simplifying administrative tasks in page management. Here's the feature set:

  • Drag & Drop pages in the tree to new loactions
  • Inline editing of page names (simply double-click on a node)
  • Moving pages up / down in view order
  • page actions on right click contextmenu
  • status icons to identify hidden / disabled / secured pages
  • security checks to prevent deletion of special pages

The module has been developed for DNN 5.2.3 but it should work for all versions from there.

Excellent work, thank you! It's great to see a more graphical representation of a DNN site's structure - including permissions.

What I'd like to see, though, would be a faster page reordering. At present, the module lets the user move a page up or down but it reloads the page and collapses the tree when a page is moved. If I try to drag and drop the page to another page, it understands that I want to make it a sub-page of that page. Maybe a more "clever" drag-and-drop presenting options when dropping (move after/before this page - move under this page)?

DotNetNuke them!

Sotiris: The whole module should be ajaxified, no postbacks, no page refresh. If this does not happen to be the case for you, I suggest opening a ticket over the codeplex where we handle support issues.

Cheers,
