Hi,

I had the localhost running yesterday and was tyring out different skins etc. Today, it's all messed up and I have no login screen. There's an ADMIN and a LOGIN link but nothing happens when I click them. The breadcrumbs say  ..:: Home_old_old_old ::..  What happened? I downloaded CuteFTP and CuteHTML today. Could that have messed me up, or did I do it when I was messing around yesterday? Please can someone tell me how to get it going again? I tried re-unzipping the DNN4 files into the DotNetNuke folder but it didn't make any difference.

it is difficult to analyse errors w/o error message. try to access your database and check the event log.  it is likely, that some 3rd party module prevents the system from working, unfortunately I do not have experience wite the modules you mention. Please contact the developers for support, they might have an idea, what is going on.

Cheers from Germany,

Well, I've messed it up even more. I tried uninstalling SQL and reinstalling it and now I can't connect to my SQL Server (my local machine). Here's the error message:

An error has occured while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider Named Pipes Provider: error: 40 - could not open a connection to SQL Server, Error: 2)

I'm going to try the MSN Knowledge base for an answer. I am hoping someone here has a solution. When I originally installed it, this didn't happen, but when I uninstalled I found that I had somehow installed it twice.

Forgive me for being so ignorant in knowing how to do all this and take pity on me!
