I have Windows 7 64-bit 4 Gb RAM 2.8 GHz
IE8, Firefox 3.6.12
SQL Server 2005 Developer and SQL Server 2008 Standard

DNN 495, DNN 551

IIS AppPool .NET Framework 2.0, Classic Pipeline Mode, Identity = NetworkService

It doesn't matter what combination of the above I use. DNN hangs not all the time - sometimes I hit a link, or a few in a row, and it is very responsive - immediate page loads.

Sometimes, however, it sits forever before the page finally loads - if it does at all. This can happen on absolutely any link - page links, button/command links ... anything. Makes working on a local instance very unproductive.

I expect that there must be something in my environment but can't figure what it would be. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks - I did these things but the behavior is the same. It's so bad that I cannot productively work on localhost.

I set app pool to "enable 32-bit Applications" and for a while fast page loads made me think I had it, but that was temporary.

Thanks again - yes, .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 is installed. I switched back to the DefaultAppPool but same behavior.
