New to DNN (i.e. evaluating it) and currently designing my website on paper.

What I’m trying to emulate is the navigation seen on the Microsoft site e.g. www.microsoft.com/web
i.e. two tier tabbed horizontal menus.

Can I achieve this in DNN or are there any modules that will do this?

Yes you can do a menu like that with the the standard DNN Menu.

Absolutely. DotNetNuke has a variety of menu providers and there are several different of these that would allow you to achieve this. For the look you're wanting, I'd recommend the Telerik TabStrip. You used to have to purchase the Telerik controls separately but now most Telerik controls, including TabStrip are bundled with DNN.

You can see a sample we built of the Telerik TabStrip in action here: http://www.thesmoothjazzcruise.com
