Hi,

We are doing a similar migration for our DNN 5.6.2 site and have similar performance problem.

Current Server:
Windows 2003 Server x32
IIS 6.0
.Net Framework 3.5

New Server:
Windows 2008 Server R2 x64
IIS 7.5
.Net Framework 4 x64

I am doing a direct response time comparisons of identical sites on these two servers using Firebug. The current server loads the home page - 944kb data in 1.8 - 2.0 seconds. However the new server takes about 2.7 - 3.0 seconds to display the same page.

Are there any specific configuration settings required for IIS? I have tried both classic and integrated mode for Application Pool. I have also tried running the application as 32bit instead of 64bit worker process.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards
Arif Shah

if possible use integrated mode for your app pool and enable static compression and caching in IIS website. In DNN, use heavy caching and no compression.

Measure!

There is no point in guessing. Use (say) fiddler to see how long it takes for data to come to the browser, use SQL server traces to see how long it spends in the DB ...

You cannot do anything useful until you know where to direct your effort.

Best wishes,
