Hello!

I've just created a new child portal and now this one is not appearing anymore in the list of portals. But when i query the Portals Table, this portal appear in the Data Base.
When I try to open the site, result is
http://mim25a.webdevdav.info/cms/Default.aspx?error=Object+reference+not+set+to+an+instance+of+an+object.&content=0

Does anyone know what should I do ?
Thanks for any help

David

does it have a corresponding PortalAlias record, and corresponding portalLocalization records? Are the default pages created in the tabs table (look for the portalid) etc etc.

Apparently something went wrong during creation of the portal. Did you get a timeout error when you created the portal, any errors in the eventlog? Is SQL Server acting up? any errors in the sql server log?

Hi Erik,

Thanks for your participation in this issue.

I finally found out what was the problem.
In SQL I've checked the different tables and it appeared that in the PortalLocalization table my portal wasn't properly set up. Each portal had two rows, one for each language, English and French, but not the portal in question here. So I went to the Portals table and changed the DefaultLanguage to en-US instead of fr-FR.

My website is now perfectly working and I could change the language as I wanted in the Admin>Language section.
Things are back to normal.

sounds like you are still using a DNN .5.3 or 5.4 - you should consider upgrading to 5.6.0, when publically available.
