I'm trying to run an upgrade on a hosted portal to DNN 05.05.01 - and when I ran the upgrade, I have an issue where I can't look at detailed ASP.Net errors - and am only linked to the DNN error page stating:

DotNetNuke Error

Windows Vista

Can anyone provide any assistance?

From what DotNetNuke version did you upgrade?

Did you use the 05.05.01 Upgrade package (and not the Install package)?

Does the server have the necessary pre-requisites installed - ASP.Net 3.5 SP 1 or ASP.Net 4.0 and MS SQL Server 2005 or 2008 (Standard or Express)?

Has the Network Service (if Windows Vista) or the IIS AppPool/DefaultAppPool (if Windows 7/IIS 7.5) user benn granted full permissions on the root install forder for the website and all child folders?

Were any other messages shown when you triggered the upgrade to run after overwriting site files with those from the upgrade package?

Did you create a backup of both the site's file system AND database before the upgrade attempt?
