Hello all,

I am facing a wierd issue with skin.css. I made a new banner for my site and updated the image name in skin.css file as well.
I have uploaded the new image and skin.css file to the host but the changes are not reflecting when i access the site from browser.
This seems to be some kind of caching issue, as i tried to refresh the host by deleting the image & skin.css. Now both the css file and image do not exist on host  actually but still the browser is showing the same old image. I wonder why the cache is not being cleared and where the server is still getting the data from? and if this really is some caching issue or i am missing something here?

I've tried everything, clearing browser cache, clearing host cache but the issue is not solved.
Can anyone help on this?

Regards,
Akhtar Usman

you could try logging in as host and going to host->host settings, and clicking "restart application" -if that does not work then it's posible the file is being cached elsewhere such as a proxy server -try pressing ctrl+f5 to pull a fresh copy

well i've tried every possible option, restarted application, ctrl+F5 with browser and what not but didn't worked.

plus this is also not a client browser issue. I tried opening website from 2 different systems and got the same result, i.e. old images are being displayed for my website and not the new ones which i uploaded later, i've already confirmed that the web host do contains the new images.

Old image copies seems to be cached at web server but this is just my idea :(
I hope someone has better idea than this.

where are you working with the skin.css file? are you sure you are working with the correct skin.css file? perhaps you have the skin installed at the HOST LEVEL (/portals/_default folder) and in a PORTAL (/portals/#/)

One way to figure out what CSS file is actually in use, you can use the Firebug plugin in Firefox to inspect the element on the page and see which CSS is being applied
