So I have a site that I created and I had used a portal alias something like dnn.dwi.com/catalog.  What i want to do is put that site onto the url dwi.com.  I know I can create a new portal alias, but how do i get all that stuff from the 'test' site onto this new one?

There are a couple of different ways to do this. The most common would be to backup the files and the database from the test server and restore them onto the production server. You should also look at using a tool like Engage: F3 to do a search and replace in your HTML content to remove the old URL from any hard coded links, and replace them with the new URL

I actually don't have to move any files between servers.  All my stuff is on the live server right now, it's just that I want my info to be shown on a different URL.  For example, I've been working on dnn.diversifiedwoodcrafts.com/catalog (which is live) and I want to move all that stuff to www.diversifiedwoodcrafts.com.  I didn't think i needed to back anything up because i'm not moving files any place.  They should be staying exactly where they are because it is live.  All I need is to switch the URL (or portal alias?) for the site.

I don't know if it's something where i have to make the "test" site a template and then create a new portal alias and then when i create that site, just use that 'test' template?

I guess another way of saying what i'm trying to do is that I have a site that's live completed and I want to duplicate it so I will have two URLs that look the same.

So I took my test site and created a template from that portal.  I created a new portal with my main URL that is already live with an old version of the site (there has been content on this site for a long time now).  But now I want this site to point to my new portal alias i just created so that same URL shows the new information and new site I've been working on.  How do I do this?  Do I need to point IIS to something?  If so, what?  I'm a little confused on this part.
