Good morning,

This may seem like a simple question, but I reckon I might as well get things cleared up.

I'm currently working on a DotNetnuke 3.0.13 project where I will be updating it to the newer version of DNN (5.0 probably). Currently, the modules for this site are just messy and could probably stand to be split up into multiple modules (we have a module that could probably be split up into 2-3 modules).

The question: Is there an easy way to call other modules within a module? For example, I have a module that will take users input and if certain events happen it will change modules containing the data that is required from the requesting module to the receiving module.

Any insight will be valuable. If my question isn't clear, I will more than happy to provide the community with more information.

Cheers, and thanks in advance.

Alain

Considering that modules are just user controls (ASCX files) you can call other user controls at anytime. It is common for modules to have a PlaceHolder in which other ASCX files get injected. You can see an example of this in my DNNSimpleArticle module on codeplex. http://dnnsimplearticle.codeplex.com There aren't any releases yet, but the source code is available in both C# and VB
