On my live site I have many portals / entries in the portalAlias table, so when I bring the site back locally I remove all entries except the localhost/ entry, and just change the portalID depending on what portal I want to point it at. So currently I'm pointing at portalID 17, I access the portal by http:\\localhost and the whole site is fine.

Then, I do the upgrade from 532 and 551. All went fine apart from the usuals, and no bad entries in the event log, etc.

So now I access my site using http:\\localhost and I get the portal 17 skin but the first page contents of another portal (PortalID 0) !!!!
I click on home which takes me to http:\\localhost\home.aspx and all OK, ie the skin and frontpage of portalid 17, as expected. The rest of the site works fine, it;s just when http:\\localhost has nothing else added to it that I get the content of a completely different site inside my current site skin!

Now obviously this is realy odd, and I'm not really keen on showing 2 sites at the same time. I just can't understand how this can happen.

Any ideas anyone?!

Thanks

Rob

Hi Sebastian, yes I have cleared the browser cache and tried several different browsers.
I now have an upgraded database and filesystem and I can flip these in and out and only get the problem on the upgraded system. I can change portal Aliases and use different portals, and it's always the same - the site skin, favicon, menu are all correct but the page/tab title and the page content is from portalID 0, on the page http:\\localhost.  If I use http:\\localhost\home.aspx it looks fine !
Thsi is very odd ..... and I can't see how it can happen !
ANy assistance appreciated .. I am keen to upgrade.
Thanks
Rob

I've also noticed, that when I log in as HOST and select the Portals option, ALL of the Portals have had their name updated to the same name (which is the name PortalID 0 has). Something has gone badly wrong with the upgrade here ... but nothing whatsoever in the log. Also, I've noticed that when I got to the http:\\localhost page I get the error: "Could Not Load Skin: /Portals/Explosives/skins/explosives final/page.ascx, Error: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index" but all other pages or the portal don;t generate the error ie. http:\\localhost\home.aspx. I've now tried this 3 times from scratch, and the same result every time. PLease heklp! Thanks, Rob
