If there a way to have a url of sitemap.xml instead of sitemap.aspx for the DNN Sitemap generator?

why do you need it? Google accepts any name for the file

I think what Lucas is trying to say is, Google doesn't look for an aspx file for sitemaps. It's standard practice for the search engines to look for robots.txt and sitemap.xml. Instead of having to intput a call for the SE's to scan sitemap.aspx, he could just have sitemap.xml for multiple sites w/o having to waste time or money.

AFAIK you need to register your sitemap to get it used by search engines, during registration you may specify the name of your sitemap file.

Sebastian, I think you're missing the point. Google automatically looks for sitemap.xml. You don't need to submit it. You only need to submit if you're using an alternative name.

We have hundreds of portals on our DNN server. Not submitting each one is nice.

So, back to my original question, is there a way sitemap.aspx can render its contents when sitemap.xml is being called?
