Under Server 2008? Yeah it probably is. I'm surprised it works even for current users. Have you gone through the thread at the top of the forum for getting everything to work under Server 2008?

I had looked but thought the info might have been out-of-date as the initial post is from July 2009, and here we are in November 2010. :-) And until this point, everything on the site works fine that I know of except this new user issue.

I'll switch over to impersonation and see if that fixes it.

Nope. It's still a problem that I haven't found a way around (MS changed how IIS handles Windows Authentication and Forms authentication with IIS 7). I'd kick it to the Classic.NET app pool first before implementing impersonation. BTW, something twigged me in your earlier posts.... what form of authentication are you using in your web.config? Forms or Windows?

Hi Mike, sorry for the delayed reply.

I've changed the site to use Classic App Pool (v2) with the NetworkService as the identity. Same problem. In the web.config I am using Forms authentication. For what its worth, some other observations:
- I tried classic app pool v4 and I get a file not found error
- I try to use impersionation and get a 500 error on the site.

I'm quite confused now..

Did you do all the permission changes that are required for impersonation on a 2008 box? It gets pretty goofy but it should all be covered in the post that's pinned at the top of the forum.
