It is possible to open the home page by appending Default.aspx to the URL you provided, which is also what happens when you click the Return to Site button on the error page.

Assuming that this is an install of the latest DotNetNuke 5.06.00, this is due to a known issue with changes that were made in the UrlRewriteModule. It apparently affects only a small number of new installs or upgrades - still trying to figure out why some sites are affected and others are not.

Please answer the following to aid in finding the cause of this issue:

1. On  what version of Windows server and IIS is the site running? EDIT: Sorry, I didn't see Windows Server 2003 in the subject at first.
2. What version of ASP.Net is the site's application pool running under - 2.0/3.5 or 4.0?
3. Did you "unblock" the DotNetNuke install package zip before extracting and uploading to the server?
4. Did you confirm that the installations root folder and all sub-folders had full file system permissions for the ASP.Net worker process account?
5. How did you do the install? - using install wizard (and in what mode-typical, automatic, custom) or by browsing to . . ./Install/Install.aspx?mode=install
6. Did you notice any errors reported during the install?

If you need to get the site up right away, I would delete all the files and the database and start over with a fresh download and install of DotNetNuke. I can't guarantee that the result would be any different but there is a good chance that it would be.

I was passed them by adding new <RewriteRule> to siteUrl.config

<RewriterRule>
         <LookFor>(.*)/</LookFor>
         <SendTo>~/Default.aspx</SendTo>
</RewriterRule>

But, before the change was made, i saw this thing in the "View page source" in my browse:
(1)<form name="Form" method="post" action="ErrorPage.aspx?status=500&amp;error=Violation+of+UNIQUE+KEY+constraint+
(2)'IX_dnn_PortalAlias'.+Cannot+insert+duplicate+key+in+object+
(3)'dbo.dnn_PortalAlias'.%0d%0aThe+statement+has+been+terminated." id="Form">

with (1)(2)(3) are in one line.

Can i fix these error?

Thank you so much

I've just had the same happen for the second time.

Using Windows Server 2003, IIS 6, SQL Server 2008 Web, ASP.NET 4.0

Not sure what 'unblock' the DNN install package means.

Confirmed permissions were fine for the installation root folder and all subfolders. Did the install from visiting the URL on the server (RDP) and no errors appeared at all.

No good to show a link as I'm working on sorting it out.  The root URL doesn't work (Return to Site etc) but with Default.aspx it does work.

...

If I switch it to ASP.NET 2 (3.5) and remove requestValidationMode="2.0" from the <httpRuntime> (line 176) it then works ok.

I'm having the exact same issue. I'm also using Windows Server 2003, IIS 6, SQL Server 2008 Web, ASP.NET 4.0 Installation was without any errors. Then the return to page error occurred.
