I have the same situation at 1&1 (Austria/Europe) - and I'am realy frustrated now for working at this problem for 4 days ! The support from 1&1 doesn't have any answer so far and I guess that you are my only chance to get the problem fixed  - Do you have any news so far ? I found out, that restaring the application (on the IIS) helps, but only 5 minutes. I have tried anything (chaching, no chaching, ...). Any hint in this solution is VERY WELCOME !! Many THX !! Best regards, Robert

The errors in this thread all point to the same cause: an asp.net trust issue. Some modules need more than medium trust (if you are using web services, or news feeds for instance). As jiangdou mentioned you can set the trustlevel of dnn to High, or even full, like this:

<trust level="High" />

or

<trust level="Full" />

this is done in the web.config file.

cheers,

Erik

Erik,

many thanks for your quick answer ! Unfortunately there is no possiblity to set another trust-level security on 1&1 (I had a long phone call today with the support-team there). 1&1 had set "<location allowOverride="false"> " in their machine.config  - so it is forbidden for any user to set up a higher trust-level at 1&1 then medium-trust. I have decided to change to the next level - get a vServer and host my portal there - I hope that will be better. I will continue with 1&1 (otherwise I had to pay the next 12 month without using it - cool agreement from 1&1 (12 moth period of commitment).

Anyway - I hope I will get my portal run within the next week - hopefully with a good speed (I decided to take the XXL-version of vServer with 40 €/month - apx. 50 $/month ) - I will give you a report ....

THX again !

Robert

I'm having the same issue at CrystalTech.  The problem was "magically" solved for about 2 weeks in February, and now when I really need it (I just sent out 500 invitations to come visit and register on my site) the same type of error message is back.

Does ANYBODY know what to say to a hosting company so they'll know what to change (again) in order for my App to run?  I know they won't go wtih full trust (and I'm fine with that, makes sense to me) but surely there's something else that needs to be configured?  100 others are running DNN successfully...but I'm having problems.  What's up with that? I feel like a doofus but...for crying out loud it's DNN! I didn't have to do any custom coding. Wah!

I'm in the same boat with 1and1.com.  After scrambling to update my system because apparently I missed the memo from them that they upgraded to ASP2.0 and my site which has been running for 2yrs came crashing down today. Upgraded to 4.5.3

Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.
