Hello,

No doubt that DNN is a great framework. I just new to it and I love it.
I have a question that how to use DNN with our old ASP code.

I have an ASP page in my old website which read and write information from sql db. Can I use DNN skin to re-frame my whole website, but keep this part of ASP read/write DB code? For example, can I add the ASP code into a content pane, so that inside that content pane, my old ASP still works?

Thanks a lot!

you may include old code using an iframe, but I suggest rewriting it as a module.

Well, that will be another question.
Generally speaking, how much extra effort it takes to port legacy ASP code to a module in DNN?
ASP is easy for everyone, but it seems DNN module needs some expert skills.

Thanks a lot.

check out the module development tutorials at dnn.adefwebserver.com - and watch next week for the Hackathon, which deals with Razor, a new technique by Microsoft, created especially to leverage the entrance step for beginners in ASP.Net.

Depending on what you are attempting to do, there may exist a module that fits your need.  In the end you may only need to convert a few pages.

For example, a lot of ASP page just displayed some database table in a grid -- check out DNNStuff''s  SQLView or my SQLGridSelectedView module.

Also look a Snowcovered (www.snowcovered.com)  for possible module

Paul.
