the mail module may be restricted to show up only when placed on the profile page, selected in site settings - would you mind to check this out?

Dear Sebastian,
Thanks for getting back to me. I have indeed read on the forums that the messaging module is typically on the user profile page. So now I have another questions:
How does one access a generic user profile page to insert content on it that would apply for all users?
I'm not sure that users on my portal have a profile page.
