Hi,

I've had a request about the security of DNN from a potential client which I am stuggling to answer. This person is non-technichal, but has had a consultant look at our proposal. There is an objection that DNN is open source and therefore insecure. I know, you don't have to tell me.... I have complete confidence in the DNN security team, the speed at which information was forthcoming regarding the recent POET vs. DNN attack was simply staggering and shows that the team is doing a fantastic job keeping DNN secure.

So, I have been searching for some independant review of DNN security, ideally comparing it to non-open source CMS platforms - but I can't fnd anything that is publicly available. Is anyone aware of a publicly available resource that would help our case?

Thanks,

Fraser.

AFAIK none of the security reviews is publically available, but DNN passed a number of them - otherwise DNN would not be used for governmental and military sites (maybe you find some information on WikiLeads about it :D )

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks, though I suspect I'll need some examples to show the client to back up our case that DNN is "strong" enough.

Can you suggest any government or military sites that actually use DNN? I think you are right - that really would give the client confidence seeing that goverments use DNN.

Thanks,

Fraser.

Fraser, I suggest contacting sales@dnncorp.com, they should have client information available.

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for your help - it seems I missed a blog post by Shaun Walker that helps to show that some very large and recognisable brands are using DNN: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/B...

Thanks for your help.

Fraser.
