Hello,
How can I reference the Page Title from my custom Skin?  I have tried using <% PortalSettings.ActiveTab.Title%>  inline in my Skin file but when moving to Layout Mode, DNN5.6 reports a 'Site Error' and looking at the Log Viewer shows this error:

'The Controls collection cannot be modified because the control contains code blocks (i.e. <% ... %>).'

What is the recommended way to use values from PortalSettings in my skin?

Thank you

there used to be a page title skin object, but you should also be able to use the [TEXT] skin object with Replace Tokens enabled and reference page title by [Tab:PageTitle] (or sth like this, I don't have access to a site atm)

This work fine in DNN 5.5

<div>
                <% PageTitle.Text = Convert.ToString(PortalSettings.ActiveTab.TabName)%>
                <asp:Label id="PageTitle" runat="server" CssClass="PageTitle"></asp:Label></div>

Thank you both for trying to help.  Sebastian, your method using [Tab:Title]  in a Text Module works and I can enter Layout Mode.    Jan, your method still resulted in the Layout Mode Site Error.

Kind regards,
Vicky
