What has happened to the Language Editor in the latest version of DNN? It seems to be completely broken. When you go in to edit the portal resource files, the first thing you see is ALL resource files that are lying around in the directory you select. AFAIR that was not the case in previous versions: you should only see the base resource file for each object.

Then, if you select the base resource file, ignoring all the other files, in the LH column, which should display the default resource set, it actually displays the translated resources for the language you are attempting to edit, and on the RH side, it shows the same.

I am trying to localize the labels for a module. The module has a Spanish language pack and I want to be able to override the package translations for one specific portal, without touching the language pack resource files. I believe this should be possible, but I no longer have any idea how to do this.

Anyone know a solution for this?

As a workaround, I have copied the relevant language pack resource file and have given it a .Portal-nn.resx extension. I have then selected the base resource file in the editor, and edited it. The resulting file has the translation  overrides I need.

thanks, I raised the issue in Gemini a few weeks ago (DNN-14478). It doesn't look like getting fixed in 5.6.1 or 5.6.2
