In document manager i have some file structures and I have given permissions to users to write to some folders.  In the actual folder on my server I have given 'Everyone' permissions to do everything to those folders.  Whether I'm a normal user or the host, I cannot delete any file.  This is the error I get:

The selected file could not be deleted because teh application did not have enough permissions.  Please, contact the administrator.

I'm not sure what is going wrong.  Any ideas?

Make sure that the specific user account that the IIS worker process is running as has full control over the file system. You might also want to force a file permission replace on all child files and folders. After you do that you might want to try and recursively re-sync the file system and restart the application. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Nathan Rover

I'm not really sure what you mean by this.  How do I check it?

There is better instructions on this process in the wiki http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/W... Let me know if you still have questions. There is another page in the wiki about how to install DNN, but it isn't as detailed regarding the step by step file permission. http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W...

At about 5 minutes into this video http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/V... the file permission settings are also covered.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Nathan Rover

Okay, so I've looked through those videos and stuff and I've had DNN installed for awhile now and all my permissions on those folders seem to be correct.  I've added the web user, Everyone, NetworkService and gave them full control over the entire folder and it still is not letting me delete the files through the image/document manager.  Why in the world is it saying that the application doesn't have permission to delete any file?
