When you log onto your computer, what domain are you logging into? Or if you have Active Directory Users and Computers installed, what's listed at the root of the tree?

THe domain is called ADMIN  at dc=co,dc=marin,dc=ca,dc=us.  When I enter that it returns this error.  This server is in the marinpublic.com  TCPIP domain. This is one thing different than the internal server which is working

I don't have Active Directory Dta on this server.   Thankf for your help

I tried the other format as suggested by the help popup this produced

Here is what it looks like on AD Explorer.

Hi Frank

I'm think I'm getting confused. What domain are the users logging into on their domain computers?

Also, in your second screenshot. The root domain line would need the preceding LDAP:// so in the end it would look like LDAP://co.marin.ca.us.

The DNN server itself is in marinpublic.com  but the users login to ADMIN i.e. ADMIN\fgodino. The  LDAP server for ADMIN  is  mistress.co.marin.ca.us.  I hope that give you a better idea of the network .

I was successful getting AD Authentication running inside the firewall.  I was thinking  the LDAP query was blocked because it is a different protocol.  Network folks say No.   Any other ideas or things I can check?

So with the last screen shot you posted it's still not working or is it working because that's the setup from inside the firewall?

The only other thing I can think of at this point is trying LDAPBrowser (http://ldapbrowser.com) and seeing if you can connect with that. It's possible that the provider doesn't work as far down as having an OU=xxx as part of the root domain. I've never tried it and it's the same code that's been there since I inherited it many years ago.
