I was asked to build a website that has 3 separate non-profit organizations linked into one login.

Each organization has membership fees that support the individual organization, but they are all related.

My questions are:

1. If I make 3 different parent portals on one DNN install, I think I can use a 3rd party module to share logins.  Would the users have to register 3 times? Once for each portal? http://www.snowcovered.com/Snowcovered2/Default.aspx?tabid=242&PackageID=16636 seems like a good place to start

2. Each portal would have a subscribable security role with PayPal.  Does this need SSL?

3. Could there be one login, and one place to "manage subscriptions" for 3 different parent portals?

4. If desired at a later date (e.g. a branch), how hard is it to separate a parent portal into a new, fresh DNN install?  Is it as easy as exporting content from a portal and importing it into a new DNN install?

Thanks for any help!

Regarding 1, you could, but you have to be careful here as the usernames must be unique across all portals...

Regarding 2, No, paypal doesn't require SSL

Regarding 3, More than likely this would be something custom, doable, but not necessarily something that exists yet.

Regarding 4, It isn't trivial, but can be done.  Export/Import doesnt work as that will not guarantee we can get all items.
