I'm using the core   Module: DNN_Feedback Version: 5.0.2.  After feedback is submitted it says the feedback has been sent to "the site owner. "  I would like it to display the actual name of the site, not "the site owner."   Do I have any control over this?

Thanks,
Steve

You can modify the static text in Admin-->Languages.

After entering the language editor, open the node for "Feedback.ascx" in the resource tree (Local Resources-->DesktopModules-->Feedback-->App_LocalResources-->Feedback.ascx) then modify the Localized Value for the Resource Name "MessageSent.Text". Then click on "Save Resource File.

In the Feedback module settings you may also specify a site page to which the user will be re-directed following Feedback submission. That is a good way to provide a more detailed message.

Bill,

Thanks for responding. But I'm a bit confused by your answer.

You say, "After entering the language editor, [Admin -->Languages] open the node for "Feedback.ascx" in the resource tree (Local Resources-->DesktopModules-->Feedback-->App_LocalResources-->Feedback.ascx)."

I don't see any opportunity from Admin --> Languages to open anything like Local Resources-->DestopModules....   On my system, the DesktopModules folder is on the remote server that's hosting the DNN site.  I can use VWD 2008  to view the remote

                                              root\DesktopModules\Feedback\App_LocalResources\Feedback_ascx.resx

and in there I see the  "Your feedback has been sent to the site owner. Thank you!"  value for MessageSent.Text. It seems that I could copy this file to my local system, change the MessageSent.Text value and upload it again and that might solve my problem.  But this wouldn't involve anything with Admin --> Language, as you instructed.  Also, it seems that this change would change it for every portal that used the feedback module, when I would like to enter a different value for the message for each portal.  Finally, on my system the file with MessageSent.Text seems to be

                                                                                    Feedback_ascx.resx

not

                                                                                    Feedback_ascx.

Thanks for your help.
Steve

What version of DotNetNuke are you using?

In later versions of DNN 5.xx.xx the first page that you see after clicking Admin-->Languages will show a table of the languages that are currently installed with the far righthand column of the title labeled "Static Resources Site". Click on the edit pencil icon in that column to open the editor. It is then that you will see the Language Editor with a tree of static resources in the lefthand column. Click on the + symbol beside Local Resources and likewise on each of the following tree nodes to open it: DesktopModules, Feedback, App_LocalResources. Then select Feedback.ascx to edit it's resource file.

The advantage of modifying the localized text in the Languages Editor is that you can have a different text for each portal while editing App_LocalResources\Feedback.ascx.resx outside of DotNetNuke would make the change in all portals. For each portal whose static resources for Feedback.ascx you edit a new resx file such as Feedback.ascx.Portal-0.resx will be created automatically.
