On our production Intranet site I installed a new moduleyesterday.   This is a custom module I wrote, and it iinstalled and works fine.

Today I have more modules to add, but now when I log in as the Poral Host and go to the Module Definitions page I can no longer access the menu.   The inverted triangle is not present.    There is no other link on the page for adding a new module.   I do not have this problem on a test system where I just installed the same module.    The same thinkg happens under the Extentions Page.

The production system is on a Windows 2008R2 box, my test system is an XP system (running in VMWare on my notebook).    The production system also inclused a blurb about the applicaiton containing an Update Service, and a dropdown to find available language packs  - both of these items are not present on my test system.    I downloaded 2 modules that is shows updates for (Events and Forum).   Do those have to be installed before I can add new moduels?

In all cases I am doing this from a workstation, as when I try to run the site on the host computer clicking on the login link does nothing.  Is this normal?

Thanks in advance,
Lou

Make sure you are in EDIT mode in the control panel, and not VIEW mode.

Hi

We are experiencing a particular problem with menu items.

what we did
The menus we are using are based on the role of the user and there are three roles of users.
Permission has been assiged to Page while creating the pages.
what we wanted to happen
An user should see a menu only if he has permission to see that.
what actually happened
Sometimes while the user is actively working on the application the menus disappear or become less in number.
Also sometimes the host is able to see the menus for the endusers which should not be.

Also note that not every time there is a mismatch of menu items; it happens only sometimes.

Other Points
1. Checked all the permission settings for the page..all are fine.
2. Did an IIS reset.
3. We are using DNN 4.6

None of these help us.

We are unable to find out a solution for this problem.

Thanks in advance for help in this regard.
