I am attempting to work with the SQL server report viewer control and I need to set the reports dataset.
In DNN we use the DAL which returns an data object as an arraylist. So when working with a drop down I normally iterate through the object for each and set the values after reading the objects info as defined in the DAL.

What I am trying to figure out is the best way to set that into a dataset that can then be assigned to the reportviewer control.
Or is there a better way to do this. I do not want to have many datasets defined in my module for each report as there will be many reports available.

SO for instance I I have a data set that required 10 items for the report and I have an object returned from a table that has 20 items I can bind that to my data set and it will see only the 10 items in the data set? can you show an example of this please?
