Hello Guys,
i am using DNN 5.0 and want to know how to use url rewriting, while researching i got the URL Friendly option in Host, but the issue is whenever i add my own Friendly URL in it, it does not work, is it just for DNN's url or i can add my own url's also...

This is how i used that..
in the match field i added---->/Section/Category/(.+)/(\d+).aspx
in the replace field i added ---->~/Section.aspx?id=$2

Now when i tried to enter the url like rwo.dev.asentechdev1.com/Section/Category/New/4.aspx it should open the section page. but instead it threw me an error saying resource cannot be found..

Can anyone help me on this, how should i use Built in URL rewriting feature in DNN

hello guys..
i am able to use friendly url under Dnn's Host, but now my issue is how should i retain the url in the browsers, address bar, i mean, whenever user enter the url say (rwo.dev.asentechdev1.com/Section/Category/News/4.aspx) it gets redirected to rwo.dev.asentechdev1.com/Section.aspx?id=4.. and in the addressbar it shows this(rwo.dev.asentechdev1.com/Section.aspx?id=4) URL instead of friendly url

now i want to rewrite the url instead of mere redirecting...

Please reply soon as it is of utmost important.
Thanks and Regards
Abbas Electricwala.

I think you can try out the "iFinity" solution, you can search iFinity from google.

Best Asp Hosting = Best SQL Server Hosting Your best hosting service being checked

 Hi Abbas

What is it exactly that you're trying to do?  Have you written a module and need to modify the Url?  Are you redirecting from an old site?
