Community edition. Portal upgraded to 5.6.1.
I have an HTML-module on a page. Carefully defined user-rights to view - all user, edit only one group.

When i reference this module on another page, page editors on this page can edit this module, both content and security settings, no matter what setting this user group is given... Tried edit rights not defined and edit denied.
Only me who's got this problem....?

I believe this is the way the security has worked for a number of releases. If you have page edit rights you're given module edit rights as well, even if the module is copied from a page you didn't have access too before. You might try changing the permissions though after the module is copied.

No matter how i define the security setting in an module, it's not possible to restrict the security settings for an page editor on an single module.

Is this the way it's meant to be then..?

This mean I can't define site wide info in an module on a top page, reference it,  and trust this wont be changed througout the site...

I use it to reference site wide sponsors, and would like those to be unchanged on all pages.
An effect of this is that a page editor on a sub-page can change site wide sponsor, delete and add , and this then is also changed on all other pages this page editor is denied access to, just because he has rights on his own page.......

I'm not able to se the logic in this functionality....

Is it any hope of seeing an change in this functionality soon...?

a page editor has always full control over all content on the page. you may use more granular page permissions to suit your needs, e.g by using AdvancedPermissionProvider from www.oliverhine.com
