I posted in another thread about this on Friday, but didn't see a definitive response.

Basically, I have several domains:

Domain1.com  <<Primary / Default
Domain2.com
Domain3.com

Now, the issue is that several modules and scripts used are very sensitive to the domain that is resolved in the title bar. So, if a visitor comes in on Domain2.com or Domain3.com it will give a "Module not registered" error, or in the case of a Google Maps script, it complains about the API key not matching the URL. So, when I saw that 5.6.1 added Redirect and Canonical links I was pretty excited. However...

I setup a test site to verify how this works and I'm not seeing any real difference in the way the portal aliases are handled. With both "Canonical" or "Redirect" chosen, whenever I visit one of the alias domains, the domain isn't resolving to the primary / default. Is there a setting in IIS I should check for, or am I missing something else?

Can you provide a list of the portalaliases you have configured.  I'll see if I can duplicate the issue here.  I am aware of some issues with portal aliases that use virtual directories but not with portal aliases with domains.

I'm getting in touch with my sysadmin for more details, however the server in question is currently running Website Panel 1.1.0 and I handle assigning the domain aliases through that.

One example/test site I'm working with is located at:  (spare domain, content is from another project)

http://www.retireonkeowee.com/default.aspx  < Primary / Default
http://retireonkeowee.com.netdocsdev.com   < "Instant Alias" setup by Website Panel, we use these for external access when the primary domain isn't pointed here yet.

Currently, in the Admin > Site Settings > Portal Aliases I have:

PortalAlias Mapping Mode:
Redirect
Default Alias: www.retireonkeowee.com

HTTP Alias:
www.retireonkeowee.com
retireonkeowee.com.netdocsdev.com

If I understand correctly, when someone visits retireonkeowee.com.netdocsdev.com they should get redirected to www.retireonkeowee.com but it's not resolving that in the address bar.

I'm also going to try and put together a sample of one of our live sites but I'm wary to upgrade any of those until I know all modules and scripts will continue to function across all aliases.

Quick update - I logged in and checked IIS (v7)

Under bindings, I have:

(Type: http, Port: 80)

retireonkeowee.com
www.retireonkeowee.com
retireonkeowee.com.netdocsdev.com
www.retireonkeowee.com.netdocsdev.com

Quick update - I tried it from a fresh install instead of an update/upgraded site and it seems to be functioning correctly.  If this helps, any idea of what I can plan for since I have MANY sites that are going to need to get updated.
