Hello - I just attempted to upgrade from 5.05 to 5.06.01 because there was a "Critical Updates Available" red button on our site when I logged it.

I followed the instructions in a recent post and everything seemed to work fine, but when I click "Click Here to access your portal" it just loops back to repeat the upgrade again.

Any ideas?

Have you tried to go straight to your domain?

Yes - it redirects back to the upgrade.

Just noticed that it doesn't appear to have actually done anything with the upgrades. Doesn't it usually indicate success/failure on each line?

It appears that the SqlDataProviders scripts that should run during the first part of the upgrade are either not present in the site's Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider folder or else something is blocking SQL script execution. The three scripts are:

05.05.01.SqlDataProvider
05.06.00.SqlDataProvider
05.06.01.SqlDataProvider

Before you un-zipped the 05.06.01 upgrade package to your local system, did you "Unblock" the Windows security that prevents some "dangerous" files from being extracted from a downloaded zip archive? To "Unblock" the zip archive, right click over the zip file or icon, select "Properties" from the context menu then click on the "Unblock" button is one is present.

Also, be certain that you copied or uploaded via FTP all of the upgrade package's extracted folders and files to the site's installation folder allowing any duplicates to overwrite those files of the same name already present.

After unblocking, re-extracting, and re-uploading all files, try starting the upgrade again.

Bill - Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction. I actually had just extracted the files right to the server and it hadn't gotten everything. After reading your response I extracted the files locally before copying and it worked like a charm. Stupid mistake on my part. Thanks for saving me a bunch of time.
