Hello everyone,

I have to deploy a website that tracks products prices in different regions. The users upload the prices (and it is treated in a +points way.)

What I need:
Content type: Deposit price with fields Product(select from list), Price, Region (select from list),Merchant(select from list) date(can't be changed) and +points.
Users post a price (Deposit price content type) and other users can vote on it (give it + or - point).
Products prices depend on date and region.
Say for example: ProductA costs 5 Dollars at merchantA in RegionA and 10 Dollars at merchantB in RegionA and 7 Dollars at merchantC in RegionB.
Making statistics on Database: for example the evolution of the productA's prices in RegionA.
and other requirements of the same type.

So should is Dotnetnuke up to the task ? Should I use it as a CMS or as a framework (is it like Django framework ?).
Shoud I (and could I easily ?) do queries on the DB, say to create products table and query data like price of each product in regionA.

Why am I asking this ? Well I have to do on .NET and for someone who's not very proficient with Microsoft technologies (just IronPython), I'm interested in gaining some valuable time when it comes to theming, user management etc...

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

DNN is both a powerful cms and a asp.net framework.  You could definitely use dnn to build a system like the one you discuss.
You would achieve this by developing a custom module to run under dnn.
