Hi,

Have been googling and searching forums to no avail, would really appreciate any help or advice.

I was trying to re-organise the menu on my DNN installation.. now I have no host menu :(

- I was in "pages", and chose to edit the "host" tabs
- I edited the main top level host page, and set the "include in menu" checkbox to be unchecked.
- It then dissapeared from the list of items under the "host" .
- It ended up in the listing of pages that aren't "hosty", without any child pages or any host admin functionality.. and the host tab was empty".
- I tried adding pages back into host, and back into the normal menu but alas no luck.

it appears to be "Assembly version 5.6.0".

Please help! How can i restore the Host functionality? Also, I want to either  remove the host pages from the website menu (if possible)
or add the host pages as sub items under another menu item.

Surely there's a simple setting I'm missing? It seems overkill to reinstall the whole portal- and at this stage that isn't really an option for me.

Are you still able to access the HOST menu via the Host button located the top right of the screen above the control panel ribbon bar.

I have a couple of site where we have disabled the host menu on the menu bar - and the users have no problem accessing the host pages via this Hosts button.

Thank you so much for your post.

Unfortunately the "host" link in the top right of the admin panel doesn't work, it simply reloads the current web page.

in your database, open table Tabs for editing. For all rows having TabPath starting with //Host you need to replace PortalID by Null or run the following query:
UPDATE Tabs SET PortalID = Null where TabPath Like '//Host%' AND PortalID Is Not Null

Wow - this is one to cut out and keep Sebastian. Hope it's on a DNN bug list somewhere that if you change the skin (say) on the top level host page it makes in unavailable in all other portals. That was a nasty couple of hours for me until I found this post!

Steve
