Hi,

I've tried this twice now - did a custom install first time round and just done a typical install and I cannot get the search to work in production.

I'm using:
DotNetNuke_Community_05.06.01_Install
on IIS7 - windows 2008 - .net 2 in classic mode.

I have tried a re-index of the search / reschedule search indexer / restart application. - nothing just get no search results.

However the source code version on my development machine works fine.

From here I tried moving the search providers over from development to production - still nothing.
I also put some event log messaging in the source code version then copied the dlls over and I got a couple of hits in the event log but still no search results and then the app stopped writing to the event log - seems very strange random behaviour.

I do see the following message when logged in
"This module is hidden to regular users if there is no Tag=xxx querystring parameter."
Not sure if this is normal??

Any ideas - is there a bug here in the release version?

Jason

it's not something i've heard of - please try running the scheduled task with the 'run now" option, and see if it starts to populate the tables (also please verify that both connection strings are correctly set)

Hi,

So I have installed the same release version on my development machine in IIS.
As you suggested Did the run now etc - and still nothing.

Both connection strings are correct.

executing:
select * from SearchItemWord
select * from SearchWord
select * from SearchItem

all seem to return valid data which I assume means the indexer is working?

Ok I did a typical installaction of "DotNetNuke_Community_05.06.00_Install" using the same settings and it works fine.
So the bottom line is version 01 - search is FUBAR!

please make sure, there is only one single instance of Searchresults module on any page of your portal including the bin!!
