Everybody has said that putting things in the default.aspx page is not a good idea due to upgrades.

OK. I downloaded the module, extracted it, and uploaded all of the files now into the modules directory. But it does not show any place in DNN to use. Should I be installing this module or something else to get it available in the modules list?

Can I please get some help?

This Google Analytics module does not come with any install instructions. And I cannot find any DNN instructions on how to to install modules. I found some screens when I log in as 'host' as to how to add a module but I don't have a clue as to what to fill in there or upload.

Thanks.

I didn't know there was a module - You don't need any module to run it - Just put that JS code within your default.aspx page and then log into your google account and that's it.

I have a video on my site that explains about installing modules.  Basically you go to the host / module definitions, click the little arrow and then a page will come up, allowing you to browse to your computer and upload the module - just look for a module that has the words PA or INSTALL in the zip name - that's the indication that it's an installable module and not the source code that some developers sell.

But as I explained, no module is needed, just that Javsacript code and your analytics ID replacing the XXXXX, copy that to your default.aspx and refresh - sometimes it takes 24 hours or so to work but that's all I did.

If you want to track multiple websites off one DNN install you can also drop the js code into the skin file (ascx) for each site.

I keep asking the same questions over and over:

1. If I hard code this in default.aspx won't I lose it as soon as I upgrade DNN?

2. Where does the default.aspx come from? My site is www.dealwithme.com. When I do a view source on the page it does not look like the default.aspx that comes in the 'Website' directory that comes with DNN. I have the extracted DNN files on my laptop. Are there multiple default.aspx files?

Any help is appreciated.
