1. yes, but it is an easy edit that you can cut-and-paste, and it only needs to be done in 1 file. Simply paste the analtyics snippet before the </body> tag.

2. theres not multiples, you just need to alter the default.aspx (not the .aspx.vb) in the root folder. Please note, that when an aspx page is called the .net framework processes it and generates a html page output, that's what you're seeing when you do view source.

And... as mentioned previously if you are worried about losing this when you upgrade DNN simply paste the code into the bottom the skin file instead of default.aspx. Just look in the Skins folder you are using and choose the relevant ascx file. If you paste the code at the bottom of this file it will be injected into your pages before </body>

Should this sort of functionality be in the core configuration of sites and portals? For example, while configuring either (site or portal) there should be a text box into which some javascript can be dropped which will then go into the header of each generated page?
