Marc,

I have had similar problems with the CountryListBox and Syndication projects in several prior versions of the DotNetNuke source package but no issues with DNN 5.06.00 and 5.06.01 source packages with the solution file for VS 2010.

Which DNN version source package were you installing?

Which solution file are you using - DotNetNuke_Community.sln (VS2010) or DotNetNuke_Community_VS2008.sln (VS 2008)?

I use VS 2008 Pro and I was thus using the solution files and vbproject files for VS2008. Maybe, it might be a good idea to add some info about this problem in your blog? This might save researchers many hours of research. Just something generic. By looking at the errors, you can deduct where the missing references are, once you understand the nature of the problem.

I installed DNN 05.06.01. This week, rather than running through the sources, I plan to install different older versions of DNN. I figure this is a procedure I will have to follow quite often from now on, so I better train myself a little first. Installing the dslocalizator sources in my traditional development setting went like a knife through butter because of all the practice I had with installation of the wrox project and my own work on the page counter. I have no doubt, that with source installations, a little practice in the beginning will pay off in the end.

I am still looking for the best way to setup dslocalizator. If I do my testing on different versions of DNN, I will have different installations of dslocalizator. one in each of the dnn versions. Keeping track in which version of DNN I am making modifications to dslocalizator - well, I still have to figure a solution for that. Maybe reserve the highest DNN version for modifications to my sources?

I hope to find the answers this week, so that in the weekend I can switch into heavy debug mode.

A quick report on the installation of DNN 05.04.04,

Same kind of problem.

DotNetNuke.library has references missing to countrylistbox and DotNetNuke.Syndication. In the folder Library\controls\CountryListBox there is no bin folder and no dll. Checking the build process in the DotNetNuke_VS2008 solution, I notice that the build is directed directly to Website\bin. When reference in the library project is set to that dll, errors resolve.

Reference to DotNetNuke.Library is missing in DotNetNuke.Web Furthermore, reference to both DotNetNuke.Library and DotNetNuke.Web have gone missing in Modules.messaging

Enough for tonight.

I cannot believe this is the propper procedure. But I'll sleep over that one. ;-)

In DNN 5.05.00:
------ Build started: Project: CountryListBox.VS2008, Configuration: Debug Any CPU ------
CountryListBox.VS2008 -> D:\Development\dnn050500\Website\bin\CountryListBox.dll
========== Build: 1 succeeded or up-to-date, 0 failed, 0 skipped ==========
