The listbox, CheckBoxList, BulletedList control are of same type but to get the selected index why there is variation in methods?

Also if i haven't given the value for ListItem it does print the text why so instead it should show an error?

Listbox, CheckBoxList and BulletedList controls are different controls derived from the same base type - and one advantage of inheritance is the ability to create individual properties.

But i think extending like listbox is good as we could easily get the selected indices instead of going through each item to find out the selected items

In answer to your second question, In listitem if you does not provide value explicitly  then text of listitem will be treated as a value.

Thanks & Regards,
