I've just copied the upgrade for 5.6.1 over my current site.  Running up the site, I'd expected the upgrade process to run, but instead I'm receiving the following error:-

Compilation Error

Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error
details and modify your source code appropriately.

Compiler Error Message: BC30456: 'PortalAliasMappingMode' is not a member of 'DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals.PortalSettings'.

Source Error:

Line 555: Line 556: 'Manage canonical urls Line 557: If PortalSettings.PortalAliasMappingMode = PortalAliasMapping.CanonicalUrl AndAlso _
Line 558: PortalSettings.PortalAlias.HTTPAlias <> PortalSettings.DefaultPortalAlias Then Line 559:

Can I do anything or should I revert back to my backup?

It appears that not all files from the 5.6.1 upgrade package were un-zipped and copied over those in the current site. In particular I'm guessing that the DotNetNuke.dll in the current site's /bin folder is not of version 5.6.1 but of the prior version.

I would suggest downloading a fresh upgrade package for 5.06.01 and this time before un-zipping it, right click on the package icon or name, select "Properties" from the context menu, and click on the "Unblock" button. Then, extract the package files into a new folder, the contents of which you will then copy to or upload over the current site. Then, browse to the site url or if you have AutoUpgrade set to "false" in web.config, browse to <mysite>/Install/Install.aspx?mode=upgrade to trigger the upgrade.

Thanks Bill.   My copy to the server didn't raise any obvious problems and I can see the DotNetNuke.dll extracted ok locally.

I've rolled back for now, but I will just give it another try when I have a gap.
