Hello.  I’ve been implementing DNN websites at work for about 15 months.  I absolutely love it and I’m sold on DNN.  With that said, my church has asked me to help them look into redesigning their website.

There are several CMS sites geared toward church websites.  I’ve only looked at a couple but my first opinion is that they are more limited than what we can do with DNN.

Has anyone used DNN for a church site?  If so, how has it worked out?  Can you provide the address for those sites so I can see how they turned out.

Thanks,
Scott

Hello and welcome. There are a huge number of church's that use DotNetNuke (in fact large parts of the skinning architecture where written by a Minister who used to be on the core team), as we're very popular with non-profits -if you do a quick google you'll find everything from church specific skins to modules (e.g. http://www.wesnetdesigns.com/Projects... )to sites - http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&...=

Thanks,
Cathal

Most of my website design and custom module development is done for churches and small non-profit organizations. Please visit the home page of my own website, http://www.wesnetdesigns.com for a list of links to some of the church and para-church websites created using DotNetNuke.

A couple of years ago I started work on a comprehensive church management system based on the DNN framework but with other more immediate and short term module development projects have had very little time to work on it. So far, the only component I have released is ePrayer. Although not part of the CMS suite, another module, ContentDeJour, was written for church and para-ministry sites wanting to rotate content such as Scripture verses on a daily or day of week schedule. Other components of the CMS such as a pictorial family directory and roster, attendance, and contribution tracking exist in various stages - mostly only data layer specifications at this time. While there are a large number of third party modules available on Snowcovered, etc. which can be used for some of these functions, none that I have found so far integrate well into a comprehensive CMS.
