I am using the document upload module.  I add new documents that link to a file that I upload when I add the document.  After it's been added, I try clicking on the title or download links and I get a server error.  "The resource cannot be found."  HTTP 404.  The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.  Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
Requested URL:  /LinkClick.aspx

Does anyone know why this error is popping up?

What version of DotNetNuke is installed?

Are you running the site in an ASP.Net 4.0 application pool?

is this something you think that if i upgrade to the new version of DNN, that it'd fix it?

I do have to do this for users to delete files from the image/document manager, but I don't know if it'd help the users view the files I'm adding to the document upload module

Amanda,

Please take a look at the site's web.config file and see if you have the following inside of the <handlers> . . . </handlers> section:

<add name="LinkClickHandler" path="LinkClick.aspx" verb="*" type="DotNetNuke.Services.FileSystem.FileServerHandler, DotNetNuke" preCondition="integratedMode,runtimeVersionv2.0"/>

Also, please login as host user and take a look at Host-->Host Settings and also Host-->Dashboard to confirm the ASP.Net version. There is a known issue with the registration of the LinkClickHandler in web.config when running under ASP.Net 4.0 which presents with the 404 error.

As for upgrading, it would be well to upgrade to 4.09.05 anyway but I'm not sure if it will correct this issue. If you do upgrade to 4.09.05, be sure to make backups of both the file system and the database before upgrading.
