Hello

I am still unable to fully delete the first portal I am left with a blank named portal and pencil icon in the Host Portals section.  I have tried to delete it but I get error messages.

I understand that I set it up incorrectly in the first place. I wanted a child portal and just put the name of the site on its childportal own and clicked parent.

I have since learned that in order to creat a child portal e.g.   www.childportal.myoriginalsite.com, that I do need to create it using the parent button, but not to include the www. = childportal.myoriginalsite.com.

Via my hosting provider I have created subdomains and the folders have been automatically created in the root.

I have returned to my site and created new portals:  childportal1.myoriginalsite.com,  anotherchildportal.myoriginalsite.com,  when I click on create portal I am taken to:

You are not authorized to view this page

Going back to the  >> host >> portal I can see that the new portals have been created accordingly: childportal1.myoriginalsite.com,  anotherchildportal.myoriginalsite.com, but what do I need to do next to view the portal?

Thanks.

Laura

Hello

I have progressed a little, although I have not been able to delete first damaged portal.

I have enabled asp.net and created a directory index file, I can see a white page instead of the Unauthorised page error message (on one of the 2 portals I have created) I uploaded the default.aspx insto the subfolder as requested by my host, but I can't yet see my default skin.

My host suggests that I upload DNN files to the subdomain folder, is that correct?. I was under the impression that DNN subfolders shared the skins, modules and database of the host/parent, or am I completely wrong?

Thanks,

Regards

Laura

It sounds like your best option might be to do a re-install from scratch. This should clear up these problems you're having. Have you looked into this?
