Just discovered something interesting - a friend of mine has a site running version 5.2 and any non-administrator role with page edit rights is automatically checked when he clicks on ADD new page!

What I'd like to achieve may not even be possible - I want to create a role that will serve as a 3rd level adminstrator (which won't have access to the Admin or Host tabs), but can add/edit/delete pages at will (this is possible with modules but not with pages unless at least one page is given to the role with full page permissions, hence coming across the issue that started this thread).

Sebastian, I see that you are a co-developer for a 3rd party CP (Advanced Control Panel Package)....does this behave the same way and/or any other advantages to using this instead?
