We produced our first multi-lingual website about five years ago.

We live and work on Mallorca, in Spain. Therefore, we could not have contemplated presenting content to people except in at least four languages.

Our most active work is with Ojored.Com. This is written in traditional ASP.

When we developed it, nothing like it existed. Now we need to consider upgrading it.

We want to consider integrating our Business Directory ideas with a modern Content Management System. For us the choice is between a complete rewrite in .PHP route or upgrading through the .NET route.

If we chose the latter, we would consider writing our Directory Ideas as a module within DNN.

My problem is that DNN can be localised but not multi-lingualised.

I would like this Post to create a dialogue from which we could learn whether the creation of a multi-lingual version is already on the road map, what other interest there would be, whether other developers are already producing their own ideas, what other people think about the idea and so on.

In our office:

we speak English
hablamos castellaño
parlem mallorquin
nous parlons français
und wir sprechen Deutsch

Thanks,
Mark Richards

You can easily build ML portal with existing 3rd praty modules, e.g. from Apollo and Locopon's. The main problem is providing a general solution for ML portals, that can be easily adopted by many 3rd party developers. There is already a group of developers trying to find the best approach - but remember, that this is a volunteer projects and substancial changes need their time.
