Hi am very new to all this, so any help would be greatly appreciated I have an old website built on php and I am trying to bring aspects into my DNN site.

In fact, what I would like to do is bring some content from that site and diplay it on my DNN site. When I did it using PHP, I used the "INCLUDE function" (NOT server side) to display off site content. For example, in php I simply type <? included 'http://www.somesite.com/somefile.php ?> (or htm) and it showed up on the web page. Is there a way to do the same in DNN? I have found the include function in asp but it is a server side only it looks like and so i cant retrieve from offsite.

Please help and forgive me for my lack!

Rudy

Well there are a few ways - one is the IFrame which will show static html but will not work with older versions of FireFox.

There are also some third party Site Scraping modules that allow you to put in certain content from different locations but you have to buy them.

Basically all the data is stored in SQL so when it's in there once it's not so hard to manage.

Thanks Nina!

For Now, the iFrame is doing the job, but I would still like ot be able to actually echo or display the contents of one of my other sites on to my dotnetnuke site. It is the idea of using the server side include funtion that retrieve an entire html file from within teh server directory and display it on the the page for you. I have had one say use teh master page control but that again seems to be pulling info strictly from the server or the site directory.

I am hoping to pull an html file from OFF site, a directory located on an entirely different web site. Does anyone have any idea how to do this? I see your idea of placing into data base then retrieing it, but as i said, it is a html or actually its a PHP page on another site but when the server displays the page it is automatically turned into the html because hte server translates before display.

Anyway, as i said thanks for the quick fix but do you ahve any other ideas to use with dotnetnuke and is it possible to give me the sample code how that would work?

Thanks a bunch!
Rudy
