Hello,
i am new in dotnetnuke development.I have windows 7 64 bit and Visual Studio 2010 installed.I also have iis installed.I have download the DotNetNuke_Community_05.06.01_Source and tryied to open the solution with visual studio but i does not start dubugging (i have about 30 errors).Can someone help me?Do i have to install dnn on iis?Any pdf , online guide will be appreciated.

First of all I want to emphasize that you do NOT need to install the source package to develop modules and other extensions. If you are new in DotNetNuke, I recommend that you stick to using the install package.

If, however, you want to install the source package to learn more about the inner workings of DotNetNuke or possibly make changes to the framework (not recommended and seldom necessary), you should find my Wiki post of assistance:

Thank you for your reply.I am not new to dotnetnuke.I have about 20 portal running on dnn, but i want to develop some custom modules and skins for dnn using Visual Studio 2010 and i do not know how.If i do not need the source packet then i just need the simple install package?An after that i just open dnn from visual studio using File->open->website->local iis?
