hi

I created a module, that contains three controls. Created zip archive, installed it without errors on my portal.

While trying to add this module to any page, i'm getting NullReferenceException in ModuleController.vb.

'Save ModuleSettings
If objModule.TabModuleID = -1 Then
    If tmpModule Is Nothing Then tmpModule = GetModule(objModule.ModuleID, objModule.TabID)
       objModule.TabModuleID = tmpModule.TabModuleID    ' NullRefferenceException is here
    End If
     UpdateTabModuleSettings(objModule)

tmpModule is null because GetModule returns null

Other modules work fine.

What's wrong with mine ? Module contains empty controls and does nothing in code behind.

Are you using a WAP type of project (web application project) or WSP meaning you aren't compiling the module into a DLL?

Is your control inheriting from PortalModuleBase?

i use WAP i include DLL into .dnn manifest file and cal see it in ~/bin directory of my portal after installation

one control inherits PortalModuleBase and two others ModuleSettingsBase

Exception happened because of controlKey settings in manifest file. I defined controlKey for every control in module. So vw_Modules view contained no records for my module - because of WHERE (MC.ControlKey IS NULL) condition. And GetModule was returning NULL
