Good afternoon all,

I am hoping to find a Copy Row function (or add one to the wishlist? for future inlcusion) in this fantastic module.

My scenario is my registered users enter repetitive daily data on a form with say 10 columns but only one columns data needs changing between each row. If they have to enter 50 items this is a lot of repeat work, entering identical data on 9 columns each time and just making one change.

It would be fantastic to have a COPY button, perhaps just next to the current EDIT (blue pencil) button.

When clicked it would open up the New Record Form but have already populated the fields with the selected records data, 1 column gets changed, user hits the submit button, quicker and less complaints from users.

Simplfied example shown below... David just wants to change the result each day but keep the other details the same

Date            Time    Country    City      User      Result
[edit] [copy] 12/3/2011   09:00   France     Paris    David    23
[edit] [copy] 12/3/2011   09:00   France     Paris    David    45
[edit] [copy] 12/3/2011   09:00   France     Paris    David    643
[edit] [copy] 12/3/2011   09:00   France     Paris    David    14
[edit] [copy] 12/3/2011   09:00   France     Paris    David    233
[edit] [copy] 12/3/2011   09:00   France     Paris    David    877
[edit] [copy] 12/3/2011   09:00   France     Paris    David    62
[edit] [copy] 12/3/2011   09:00   France     Paris    David    233
[edit] [copy] 12/3/2011   09:00   France     Paris    David    877
[edit] [copy] 12/3/2011   09:00   France     Paris    David    62

Hope the above made sense and appologies if I have missed this feature already in F&L.

Many thanks again to the Stefan, Sebastian and any one else who has made the module possible to date, I just wish I understood enough about programming to help you guys out...

Regards

Chris

Hi Chris,
can you please add this as work item? Your description is excellent.

I don't know whether this is a common requirement, though it makes sense for your use case. It should not be to difficult to implement anyway.

Hi Stefan,

Many thanks for your quick response - yes this feature would certainly help with my current requirement.

I would hope other user may find this useful as well?... perhaps it could be a selecatable option from the F&L config page.

Thanks eitherway though for your response, and this great module.

Chris
