We are in the process of building a large vertical market application on DNN and have a bunch of experience building 3.x modules but wanted to start on a platform that will last as long as possible.  After several days of working through the issues I now have a working solution using 3 new ASP.NET 2 controls:

  1. Gridview
  2. Formview
  3. ObjectDataSource

The goal is to have grid view that is searchable, sortable with as little code as possible that links to an edit view that supports the standard DNN edit functions.

I have decided to create a Blog and add to it each day about the way we are building the modules at DNN4 Module Development Blog

aspeno,

excellent idea, it'll be educational for new programmers to see how the process of designing and building a module happens, often getting started is the hardest bit.

I did notice a potential problem with one of your posts, please email me cathal.connolly(at)dotnetnuke.com , so I give you further details, as I'd prefer not to post them in a public forum.

Thanks,

Cathal
