I finally made the site to work. The main (other) issue was that I was given the wrong database.

After publishing the right database, the site was working perfect (on the temp location www.impositionforum.com/web)

Now, I changed the domain (on same hosting) to imposition.com and it no longer works...

I did not change anything except the portal allias, so I think I made a small mistake.

I check the Portal allias and there is 1 entry: portal 0, www.imposition.com/web (this is where the site is located).

Can you tell me if I need to correct something?

Many thanks in advance,

Ray

New post in Administration and Configuration:
To convert a child to a parent.

assuming u have www.mysite.com/childportal/
and u want to change to www,childportal.com

1. Open the child portal as ADMIN.
2. In site settings -> advanced settings -> Portal Alias add the new parent domain to the list of aliases
3. In IIS you need to add the new domain to the web site bindings.
4. You should now be able to navigate to the new www.childportal.com.
5. If you have canonical set - adjust the DEFAULT domain to the www.childportal.com
6. If all is working properly you can now remove the OLD child alias.
7. Finally in the sites filesystem - u will need to use FTP or direct access to the root directory and delete the folder named /childportal/ and its contents.

I am not sure I was clear enough.

 the Web site does not work and I do not have access to it;
 I am using GoDaddy, so, I do not have access to IIs config;
 Everything WAS working fine until I changed the domain name;
 I am not sure my Portal allias (Database accessed from SQL Studio) are correct, as shown in 1st post.

My boss is really pissed   ;-)
I mean really really realy...

Thanks all for your help (in advance).

why oh why to people persist with go-daddy - its just asking for trouble.

On GoDaddy - you need to configure the new domain name and associate it with your hosting.
Talk to GDaddy help desk support about how to do this.

What I see is a godaddy domain that is not associated with a hosting - hence it falls back to their default pages.

Actually, all is good now.
GoDaddy is perfect in terms of hosting etc....

I had to wait for the DNS to properly repoint so the config was OK.
My site is working fine now!

Thanks for your comment though.
