Hi,

I'm really sorry Crispy for my words. I understand that you did work hard to support us. I'm really regret about it.

Yes like you said, maybe some changes in the core code have affected some modules. In the previous version of the forums, i had a little problem having avatar on posts, but then i resolved it by changing a little in the folder name. But now it seems that that solution doesn't work anymore. However, i have found out that the core code is not the only problem in this case.

Currently i'm using DotNetNuke 3.0.13 due to some bugs in version 3.1. The forums modules' version is 3.1 (i had to modify a bit the .dnn file to have the modules work on DNN 3.0.13), but it seems that the avatar portion of the new forums version is different from the previous version. The previous version of DNN have problems with avatar too, but it still displays the broken image link in the place of the avatar, but in this version, is nothing.

No worries, I didn't take it that way at all.  I know some problems exist and I know how to fix many of them that are now fixed between versions.  The problem is after the fix is so far along it is hard to remember every little step in between.

we've been talking about avatar, but i forgot to remind you guys that this forums (i mean dotnetnuke.com ) doesn't have avatars too. I don't even see the avatar item in 'my settings'.

Hats off to you guys, Crispy! The forum module is coming along nicely, it just needs a few more tweaks to make it stable and ready for prime time which is why I'm sticking with it.

Without a doubt the biggest gripe from my users are with regards to them not being able to easily  find new posts since their last visit to the forum (ie. the "Last Post" display problem, threads not moving up when new posts are added, etc.) Also, there are several niggly JavaScript and CSS bugs with regards to FireFox. Fortunately I believe all of these issues are being addressed or have already been resolved in the next version. As I mentioned before, the image upload mechanism produced lots of complaints but I wrote my own upload so it's not a pressing issue at this time.

BTW, any news on when we can expect a Beta?

The forums on here we disabled avatars to everyone.  The system avatars (dnn core team icon) are the only ones permitted at this time.  One reason it was disabled is bugs, another we were on that shared server before.  We just moved dnn to its own box and I am working on the fixes for avatars this weekend (Just verifying them) and we will then be able to open them up here although I am not sure we are going to just yet.

As you can see here the Last post and sorting issues have already been corrected.  I think I have handled the FireFox problems already but will verify over this weekend.  I would be watching for the next forums release on/before the 25th.  (I am fairly certain this is a solid date.)

cyberfester,

You need to install the gallery module and then enable integration in the forum module. HTH.
